We had a 15" version of this backpack and it was too small. However, this backpack is much cheaper than the 15 inch backpack. The zipper gets caught on an odd flap, the water bottle mesh broke after just a few weeks of use, and the material is definitely different, not as durable. This bag holds a lot more stuff, but I liked the style of the 15" model better with two full pockets instead of a tiny front pocket that doesn't fit anything. I was disappointed because we liked the smaller one with the matching lunch box so much that I thought I'd "upgrade" when I bought the larger size. By the way, the photos show a pink water bottle holder and ours was black, which made me happy.
