I wasn't sure if I needed new balls but I was starting to notice the smell of chlorine coming back into my shower water so I went ahead and bought them. I couldn't believe it but the smell of bleach was gone, god! My signature showerhead only came with black and brown balls, but I think the white balls do even more good because my skin looked better afterwards too! It also had more beads in it than could fit in my head so I can swap black and white before I have to buy more! My original black beads got so bad they got stuck in it and almost broke my showerhead when I pulled them out! I've been using it for about a year. So now I know I need to monitor them and at least change the ones that used to be.
