Bought this as a gift for myself thinking a bath with a good book and a glass of wine would be a great way to ensure I can't go outside due to the pandemic. The bathtub is quite wide, but this shelf is more than enough to lay securely at its widest point. I appreciate that the glass holder keeps me from tipping my glass in the tub, but you'll need to shop around for a glass that has a foot flat enough to fit under the holder. (Tip: when putting your glass in and out, keep your foot near the bottom so it slides smoothly and doesn't twitch and spill the wine! If you spill the wine, this silly song gets stuck in your head.. I mean!) It took me a while to figure out how to use the bookkeeper, but once I did I was glad to see that it actually holds a book open fairly securely. It works better with small paperbacks than wide hardcovers, but it works reasonably well either way. I draped a rag over the shelf extensions to dry my hands when it's time to turn the page. I use part of the soap dish on the tray to hold a bowl of strawberries and cheese cubes. Now all I need is a small battery powered reading light so I don't electrocute myself. The candles on the edge of the tub are nice, but not bright enough to read!
