But in order for your car to recognize the NEW KEY you cut at the locksmith, you need to insert a little rubber thing that's a transponder. He enters a small empty room on the side of the key. To do this you may have to break your old keys with a very small hollow plastic square holding the finger piece which is the transponder. Great product but remember just a hex chip is not enough, you need a small rubber transponder. Remember when you receive the key there is a cavity on the side of the key that looks like an empty space where the transponder is located. As long as you take the CHIP and then the transponder it will work. If only your doors work, then you only have a hex chip installed, no transponder. If you put an old key in front of a new one, your car will start 10 percent of the time, indicating its compatibility, and you can break the hollow part of the old key, remove the transponder finger like a rubber thing. As long as you don't damage it and boldly stick the new key into the hollow thing, the new key should work. Much luck. This is a great product that really WORKS
