I didn't like this bag at first as the zipper didn't close smoothly, it had protruding threads and it's a bit small, but overall I thought it would fit my smaller size. then I saved a 2 lb kitten for a while so I wasn't complaining. Unfortunately after the second use of this carrier the stitching came undone from the carry handle and now it is falling off. I contacted the seller and he admitted it was not normal but did not offer a replacement as it has been 49 days since purchase. (Less than if you take away the time it took for delivery and reply). It was only used for a simple vet visit and kept in a cupboard in between. My kitty gained weight over time but only weighed up to 6lbs which shouldn't be a problem. I guess you can hope you don't get a defective one and maybe you'll be fine, but I definitely wouldn't trust that for air travel or long haul.
