I thought it would ease my back and increase my reach in the bath. I can get to the other side of the tub, but I have to bend down completely to get there (the pole is very short). Also, sponges are very cheap and don't clean well. The same thing on the side of the tub (after my husband took a bath) didn't rub off with a sponge but I was able to wipe it off with a washcloth. Right now I just use sponges to wipe down sinks and tub floors (no deep cleaning) until they're completely gone and just start using the end of a stick to hold my washcloth while cleaning. sides of the bath.
