Noise canceling off: This is the true unicorn of Bluetooth headphones. The frequency response has full extension from the lowest to the highest frequencies. There is a particular focus on the bass, but I find it tasty and engaging. Many details are worked out. It's interesting to listen to them. With the noise-cancelling on: you've got what I'd call a devastating bass boost that can't help but be weird and overwhelming. There is nothing on the market that can reproduce the rest of the music with bass quite like these headphones. Finally, I'm giving this 5 stars for what they do with the noise cancellation turned off. You won't find this quality anywhere else in Bluetooth headphones. I have wm-1000xm3, px7, impulse 3, 550 II and qc35 v1 and none of them can even come close to doing what these legacy 900 can do. Having an app and being able to update the firmware is crucial for the survival of this type of headphone in the market. You don't have an app or new firmware. The firmware could potentially fix the ANC/Bass glitch in these headphones, or offer step-by-step noise-cancellation control along with sound profiles to let you dial them in. There's no such thing here, and it's just sad. continue to work on the outside of the headphones. The difference is whether these mics are used to send a signal to the speaker drivers for external noise or ANC. Basically, there is no way to simply mute the microphones, which there certainly should be. Secondly, if you want to run ANC and have an Android device (which you obviously need to use with these headphones to get Hi-Res codec support), Android has the ability to create a runtime equalizer that matches the frequency response changes for all applications. You definitely want to try Neutralizer and really understand how it works. This gives you a better equalizer than elsewhere, and gives you the same result as if you had ANC off and ran without the equalizer. Both options are best in class. After searching the internet and support site I finally found no real support, no replacement pads, no apps, no firmware updates. It's like someone enthusiastically designed these headphones, but the next day the entire company withdrew. There are even fake "professional" reviewers who falsely claim that these headphones don't have AAC. Obviously this company does not monitor or communicate to contact and correct this. seems to be important.
