With 18650 refill. Both worked without problems, the light intensity is IMPRESSIVE. I think it's actually brighter for close-ups than the Anker Bolder LC90 I have. The tight zoom shows an LED matrix grid instead of a spot beam, which is odd but fully functional. The wide zoom more than illuminates my 75 x 50 foot yard at night. Update: I'm having a power outage due to a massive storm system. I place one of my house bell lights on the edge and set the beam to wide and they light up my living room. They weren't designed as flashlights, but here I am impressed with these little guys. Six dollars a piece? Come on, buy four.
