Our little guy wasn’t too interested in the hamster until 18-20 months old, when he really started talking. Before then, the hamster took a lot of abuse. Baby Krav Maga, death grips, throws, you name it! Surprisingly, it held up perfectly fine for nearly 3 months, until a few days before the warranty ran out. It was just hanging out on the floor, no recent assaults, and it suddenly stopped talking. The head was still moving though, but there was no sound.I emailed the company and they said it was out of stock, but will send a replacement shortly. We just got it and our toddler is so happy! This time, he’s older and much gentler on his new hamster buddy. It’s so cute to see him talk to the hamster.I opened up the old hamster and couldn’t find any broken wires. Construction is very sturdy with solder points covered in glue. This hamster is solidly built. The fur is very soft and it repeats long phrases.Don’t hesitate to get one. It’s a lot of fun for both kids and adults and the company really stands behind their product.
