This cat bed is interesting because it can be assembled accordion style, which means it can be assembled into three different shapes (fold to either side to create different bell shapes that some cats might use as a scratching post, or straighten to create a scratching post (cat bed). He is beautiful and tall. It's not as soft as corrugated cardboard - press down on the cat bed and you'll feel the edges of the paper just a tad sharp. The paper is thin but strong and not multi-layered like cardboard, but literally an accordion made of individual thick sheets of paper. My cats avoided it until I spread a thin little blanket over it and now one of them often lies in it. I'm going to dull the edges of the paper a bit with sandpaper. All in all a fantastic purchase, especially for the price! I am happy with this purchase.
