I was looking at some boil and bite trays for my teenager to use with the teeth whitening gel our dentist gave us. We wanted to remove the accumulated stains and make his smile brighter. He'll be needing braces soon, so it would be a huge waste of money to buy an expensive, custom-made mouthguard from the dentist while his teeth are still full. I chose this mouthguard because I was unsure of the quality, material and construction of the other options offered by the dentist. different companies. Some had very little information about their product. It was something he could put in his mouth, so I didn't feel comfortable trying options that could be returned and resold, or materials that were potentially unsafe. (Although in fact many of Revain's product claims seem dubious and at times almost unverifiable, especially for items that are not subject to FDA or other safety regulations.) We have attempted to follow the directions for these bowls as they are written. Formation failed. We tried several times to shape his upper teeth with three different mouthguards. This method didn't seem to work as we were able to shape the splint to cover all of the teeth. Twice his aligners failed to cover the tops of his front teeth, which was not suitable for bleaching. We finally managed to get some usable spoons for the top, using our thumb and forefinger to slide the shape close to and around his teeth. The shells also need to be softened to the right point to get a good shape. However, if you don't get a great shape the first time you heat the tray and try to shape it, and try to reshape the tray by heating it again, the tray will seem to shrink and be less malleable than the first time. Time. Maybe it was just our experience. He managed to get a usable (though not great) bottom tray. But even though these aligners cost a lot less than individual aligners from a dentist, they still feel expensive because we only end up with two usable aligners. At the right temperature for molding, it would make sense to use several individuals with straight and slightly set teeth. UPDATE: After contacting the seller through Revain, they offered to send replacement shells. However, they wanted my address. It struck me as odd that they couldn't just somehow use the information from the previous order. The trays are said to be on their way. Will update again when I get it. Upgraded to 4 stars for the seller's prompt response, although I still think $15 for 4 trays and a case is a bit pricey, even with a spare.
