Works but poor build quality; poor temperature control

This is a functional wax pot in the sense that it melts the wax fairly quickly. However, the build quality is pretty bad. The wax bath is made of thin aluminum which is not too durable. The latch on the thin cheap plastic tank broke the first time I removed the wax tank from the heater. It was only 1/3 full of wax so not that heavy but still the shackle broke. The temperature display can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit and adjusted up or down. Temperature accuracy in terms of holding the melted wax isn't great - it fluctuates up and down quite a bit. You shouldn't rely on a digital temperature reading because it's wrong - a fingertip test is much more accurate in determining if the wax is too hot. A temperature controller would be much easier to use than a digital readout. The outer case is all plastic, and the buttons (to adjust temperature up/down, toggle C to F, and power) sometimes don't register pressure. .It comes with 4 packs of wax beans. I only tried one of these and was put off by the smell so I didn't try the rest and used a higher quality wax. The price isn't unreasonable for a regular wax pot, but for the same price (or less) there are better and easier-to-use systems out there. 2.5 stars. While inexpensive, it's not a wax pot that I would recommend.
