I bought this lamp for my mother. She needs a bright light so she can pay bills etc on her desk. I had to change this lamp twice. The first time I thought it was defective, because after a short time the light became weaker and weaker. We changed the batteries several times but it was the same. So I exchanged it. This replacement does the same. If you swing the lamp lower, it seems to shine brighter. But it makes no sense. We'll bring it back and look for something better. I've usually had good experiences with Ott Lites, but not this time.
