I bought these shoes as an alternative for 33 mile creek crossing hikes. Worn first and last day (11 miles plus 7 miles) off-road. ADVANTAGES 1. They dry quickly. Form fitting so no blisters 3. Was able to hike over rocks with a 30 lb backpack with minimal discomfort CONS1. The back of the shoe made it IMPOSSIBLE for me to wear it without socks and it dug into the back of my ankles as I walked. I'm a size 8 and ordered a size 8. While the rest of the shoe was snug, the opening wasn't tight enough to keep things like sandstones out of the shoe etc. I wore thick neoprene socks with them, but without them, these Shoes would be impossible to wear. Anyway, I was hoping to wear them to the beach as well, but I feel like the only way to wear them is with neoprene socks.
