I recently bought a larger version of this backpack to replace the SwissGear backpack I had for many years. It is significantly larger than the previous backpacks I have had. I have a 17 inch laptop and it fits easily in my laptop bag. I think it would fit a 20 inch laptop if there was one! I ride a motorbike and have already experienced some rain and everything is dry. Let's see how it will be when I experience heavier rain. I've also only used it for a few plane trips instead of carry-on luggage. I was able to fit a pair of shoes, 3 outfits and a small toiletry bag on top of my laptop and other work items I usually keep in it. The shoulder straps are wider than on my SwissGear backpack. I was happy with my SwissGear backpack and almost bought another one. However, the price and size were attractive. Let's see how long this one lasts. I only have two complaints that aren't super important. Difficult to get hands in the few small pockets to get things. To be honest, my hands are above average. I've seen this complaint in other reviews so it's true, but that didn't stop me from buying. My only other complaint so far is that the organizer compartment for pens, markers, business cards, etc. is not well designed. Separate places for writing instruments are too short to snap into their clamping part. As a result, they sometimes end up on the bottom of the backpack. Again, it's not a big deal for me, but enough to give it 4 stars.
