I only wore them briefly on my teenage son's bed but so far they wash and wear well and I hope they stay that way. We just bought an adjustable bed for my son and the pillow top mattress was quite thick. After washing and drying at a hot pace, the sheets fit perfectly and the fabric felt very soft. After several washes and tumble dry they still fit perfectly and so far there have been no lumps or pills on the duvet cover. My son usually goes to bed in shorts, so his sheets don't often have this problem anyway. It was always my daughter wearing sweatpants or other pajama bottoms that pilled when the sheets were junk. I think the fabric is rubbing on the fabric? Anyway, when I take them out of the dryer, even though they're still quite warm, they're pretty wrinkled. But I think my ex-husband's grandmother was the ONLY person I ever knew who ironed her sheets. She really was, I saw her once and thought I was hallucinating. I think for the price this bedding set is a good choice and I would not hesitate to buy another set in a different colour/print.
