First you need to fill it with water. But try to fill it halfway so it stays soft for baby's tummy. To be honest, I was afraid that this mat would leak easily. Well after trying this mat and my kid has been using it for a few days now I'm relieved until he spills a drop of water. My child seems to enjoy catching the little toys floating on this rug. She played it for hours yesterday. I love how beautifully designed this rug is. The colors are very strong and bright. Definitely kid-friendly design if you ask me.
