Review on Cocktail Tools for a Polished Bartender's Kitchen by Isaac Simpson

Now that I've had it a long time I'm definitely thinking of a Paris or Boston shaker. I don't use the built in filter because it is very slow. No problem as this kit comes with a Hawthorne filter. The kit also includes a bar spoon, but it seems its length may not be long enough for stirring. The reason for removing a star is the difficulty in dissecting it. From what I've read most shoe shakers have a hard seal. I can break the seal after about 4 hits. I cut my fingers last night trying to take the lid off. Not too deep, but enough to sting. For that reason, I'll be more likely to look for a different style of shaker. I still plan on keeping it if I don't continue to experience it.
