Review on 👁️ NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Oyster: Enhance Your Look with Long-lasting Color by Cathy Espinoza

Oversized eyeliners from NYX are a dream come true for your wallet, your limited time and your beautiful, dignified eyes. ;-) Oysters, strawberry milk, yogurt, cashmere, peacock, milk and cottage cheese. They're a lot cheaper than Urban Decay or even Maybelline Color Tattoo or Loreal Infallible - about half the price of the last two and about three times the price of Urban Decay. THE PRODUCT IS ALMOST THE SAME, with very small differences. For example, if you compare them side by side, Maybelline Color Tattoo's "Too Cool" and NYX's "Cottage Cheese" look the same. Saturation, opacity, color and shine are exactly the same. Except Maybelline is $7 and NYX is $4! Urban Decay is $14! NYX is more convenient because you can take a few and quit. in your pocket and go. You don't need a brush, just one finger is enough to touch up and blend. They are VERY EASY TO SHARPEN (more on that in the rest of this review) and don't wrinkle when used properly. Milky (by far the most popular and healthiest flower) has many uses and should be a staple in your new makeup bag. I sincerely hope NYX doesn't realize how awesome and useful their jumbo pencils are and charge us more - it's RARE that we ladies find an affordable product that actually WORKS and makes us happy we bought it. . Of course, they can be bought from Revain, but also (for those of us who live on the east coast) from Ulta. A few tips and comments: Can be used because the product is so creamy (that's why it's so easy to use and looks so great) that trying to sharpen it turns it into a mush. IS NOT IT. You can of course keep your jumbo pencils if you like this app, but it's a lot more convenient to use as a pencil and a lot more trouble than it's worth if you know how to sharpen them. You'll need tongs, an empty eyeshadow mold, a hot blow dryer, and plenty of time and patience to store your pencils. You just need a little know-how to sharpen them. Easy. 1) Get an inexpensive ELF or NYX double sharpener ($4 - it has two sharpeners side by side, one regular size, one large with a removable lid for collecting shavings) and use the larger side. for sharpening jumbo pencil.2) PLACE NYX JUMBO PENCILS IN FREEZER FOR 15 MINUTES. The edge where the pin meets the product looks and feels like plastic, but it's not - it's actually very heavily shellac coated wood. If you sharpen your jumbo pencils within about five minutes of taking them out of the freezer, they sharpen fairly easily. No product is thrown away and they are like new. 3) Use a cotton swab to remove creamy product from the sharpener blades to avoid transferring or smearing the next color and you start with a clean sharpener. You are welcome :) * DIFFERENT USES OF MILK: 1) Eye Primer/Base - I use ELF Face Primer, Revlon PhotoReady Foundation, ELF Eye Shadow Primer and lightly dust with powder and then apply milk to the lower eyelid of the eye ( not in the crease) and blend a little. BAMM! Any color applied on top not only lasts longer but really shines. I've never had wrinkle problems when I prep my eyelids this way. You can really stack the product and it will stay in place. If you need extra reassurance, dust your eyes with some powder when you're done with eyeshadow (before applying mascara) and use a makeup kit/finish spray (ELF finish spray is $3 at Target and works great)2. ) Use the milk on the lower waterline - it really opens the eyes3) The milk is applied to the center of the lower eyelid as a finishing accent - it adds shine, volume and a more natural accent 4) Eyebrow Accent - blends in just below the eyebrow in the eyebrow area. Top/outer corner to create depth and contrast 5) Finishing Concealer - to cover and conceal flaky eyeshadow/eyeliner after you're done 6) Emphasize inner tear duct - just one point smeared into each corner, opens and brightens your eyes Application continues. You can buy milk in packs of three - it's worth buying as they run out FAST. * COLOR SATURATION: The only reason NYX jumbo pens don't get five stars is that the lighter colors aren't as saturated as they could be. Oyster, Strawberry Milk, Yogurt and Cashmere are BEAUTIFUL but not intense colors for lighter skin. They are silky, shimmering and natural but not luminous. I'm very pale and it's more of an accent color that either gives my brows a nice shimmery accent or finishes the center of my lower lid for a lighter effect against a dark background. No doubt if you have darker skin all of these colors will work well and look great on you. On the other hand, peacock is a gorgeous rich green-blue that blends beautifully with cottage cheese and oyster to create an ocean. - Themed summer eyes that aren't over the top (although Peacock can certainly be used for plenty of drama, especially if you line your eyes with black. Wah wow!) As they're creamy and well done, all those giant NYX pencils blend and they blend blend very well - lighter colors can even be fully blended if you just coax them with a brush or finger. But their durability is not as good as the Maybelline Color Tattoo product, for example. This is good if you want to remove makeup more easily at the end of the day! Soap, water, scrub and cold cream are required to completely remove Color Tattoo. NYX takes the same number of steps (for me - I want a CLEAN face before bed) but not as many elbows. So, in a nutshell: GET THIS. It's worth it!
