Advantages: energy efficiency, connection option to any USB socket, adapter included. The light can be adjusted to any brightness level within its range by pressing and holding the up/down button. I like that as the presets are never quite right. The clamp for this is very strong. Good quality in terms of stability but not easy to move if you have arthritis in your hands. The Bad: The head (bulb) of the light unscrews and needs regular tightening if you're moving the gooseneck at all. absolutely nasty: This silver color (chosen because I'm a curmudgeon, no color preference) has a white cable and an on/off switch. When the lamp is off, the entire switch glows light blue. This may not be a problem for lamps with a black cord, but if it's white it will probably at least bother you. At worst, it disrupts your sleep. Or keep you awake because it's really, really annoying. I can return this if I remember to take the black tape to cover the switch.
