This product is difficult to identify. Judging by its merits, this is a decent shoe, although I think it should be cheaper. In (inevitable) comparison to the original Birks, it doesn't seem like such a good price. First, SIZE: I measure 9.5m on a Brannock device. These size 10 (men's) clogs fit me perfectly without socks, but with a thicker toe (like white athletic socks) they feel too tight for me. Because I wanted to wear them with socks as slippers, I ordered them in size 11. They fit better for my purpose but were noticeably larger than usual. SUPPORT: Foot support is limited. The heel cup is fairly deep, but arch support and toe traction are almost non-existent. The seller describes the insole as "EVA sponge" and a cork insole, but I didn't find it soft. MATERIALS AND FINISH: Seller describes "Suede upper with suede midsole". The upper looks like suede, but the inside is covered in thick fabric, making it difficult to tell if it's real leather or microfiber. If it is genuine leather, it is quite thin and must therefore be reinforced with fabric on the inside. Compare this to Birks, which are made from a single piece of very thick, unlined leather. The midsole looks like suede, but it was shaved so carefully I couldn't tell if it was real suede or faux microfiber. The "cork insole" looked like cork from the outside, but the material was heavily varnished so I couldn't tell what it was. These clogs were so heavy I doubted the insole was natural cork. The EVA soles were very stiff and certainly didn't offer "cushioning ability" as advertised. The workmanship looked very good and clean and the shoes felt solid. Unfortunately these shoes had a very strong chemical smell (from some sort of anti-mold product they use for storage I think) that didn't go away after a few days of airing, so I ended up sending them back. It may not bother other people, but for me it was a deal breaker. Also, I think thirty dollars would be the best price for this product.
