I've been using the Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N700 for almost a decade, but the USB cable broke, causing the fan and speakers to fail. (This product is also oddly out of production for a long time.) It still worked as a nice, solid, and comfortable cushioned pad, but my latest laptop gets pretty hot and needs cooling. (Update: I've found that the laptop generates less heat when Wi-Fi is off. I usually use a wired internet connection.) The base of this item isn't as wide, but the slide-out mouse tray offers more room for the mouse (I still use a mouse pad to mouse over it, not pictured). The bottom of the mouse tray is not padded and lying down with your laptop for a long time can become very uncomfortable. The mouse tray is also foldable. I would have preferred the entire unit to be wide enough for the laptop and mouse pad, and the mouse stand wouldn't be the weaker retractable thing without the same cushioning. The laptop's flat bottom and cushion allow the laptop to recline. The detachable mouse tray can be attached either on the left or on the right. The USB cable is still flimsy and care should be taken not to kink it or accidentally pull it. This is a good length with no stretch, at least for my computer. The soft, thick bumper of this laptop allows you to comfortably rest your forearm on it, at least for a while. The bumper is heavy-duty and the rubbery finish resists slipping and sliding forward, but slides side-to-side with ease. The mouse tray stays flat and flush with the base when the top is lifted. The soft bottom is a mesh fabric that's thicker on the front and back, but not as heavy on the sides. The fan is audible; You know when it's on and off, which can have some benefits, e.g. B. the suppression of noise. My computer has a graphics card which is probably causing it to generate more heat, but it does get noticeably warmer with the fan connected at startup.
