We have had 6 inch risers for our bed (to store things under the bed) for a number of years. So when we bought a completely different bed for our new home, we just used the same risers from earlier. I'm 5ft 3" tall and while it was a little difficult to climb into our old bed with its 14" mattress and equally deep box spring, our new bed turned out to have an even deeper mattress and taller legs than me felt like a pole vaulter trying to get to bed every night. We finally decided to try these 4" risers and they work great. We still have just as much storage space under the bed for Christmas decorations, tins, sewing and quilting, but now I don't have to throw myself onto the bed at night with a running start! Well, it was almost as bad. We've only been using them for a few weeks, but we have no reason to think they'll be out in the future. 2 support legs in the middle of the bed in addition to 4 legs in the corners.
