I needed a small shoulder bag for 2-3 mile hikes or half day walks. PROS: (1) Plenty of room for your phone, keys, wallet, a small first aid kit for me and my dog, and enough room for a SMALL thermos. (2) I can use a carabiner to attach a collapsible dog water bowl and at least 1 other item (3) has a water bottle holder (not a thermos), (4) I still use real maps and there is enough room for a couple of maps. I like that it's waterproof. If I need more space, I take a bigger bag.
