After reading a lot about different hepa filters I bought this product for a 15x15 bedroom to solve the dust problem (no carpets or curtains). As recommended by the manufacturer, I leave the fan on 24/7. Set it low at night and medium during the day. The sound at low levels is acceptable, but at high levels it sounds like a loud hair dryer and nobody will use this setting for long. After a couple of weeks there were fewer dust balls but I'm picking up on very fine dust that settles on and around the machine while it's on! After two months, the light filter has already shown that it needs to be replaced. At this price it might be suitable for a very small child's room, but not very effective for something larger than 10x10.
