Just a hole on one side - not quite clear. It consists of 6 heavy duty felt wedges pre-tied with twine (no assembly required but ships flat). You can mash it into a taco or turn it into a cave/ball. Not sure what to expect but bought toys and other stuff for our new cat (my first ever) thinking this might be a good place for her to hide or play. So far she likes it but was reluctant to get in when it's in ball/cave mode. But I think she is. She kind of chases him and loves to lay on him when he gets laid so I think it's a good buy.
