Review on Motor Trend All Climate Performance Odorless Interior Accessories by Flex Morgan

Installation guide does not mean no customization.

In a Motor Trend review of the OF-933-BG, the floor mats showed they match the 2018 Accord sedan and you can rest assured they won't cut in too much. The mats sent to me did not come in a box but in a 2" x 2" plastic bag. The floor mats also had the same model number but were embossed with the ACDelco trademark instead of Motor Trend as in the online ads and images. As for the installation. I made a small cut at the top of the front mats but the overall coverage was just what I wanted and even the left footwell covered about 75% of the left pedal, I have no slip either. Rear mats require careful measurement and careful installation. Carefully trimmed, the rear floor mats fit snugly within the rear footwells, completely covering the rear lip and enveloping the center console to where the carpet meets the console. My approach to installing the back mat focused on centering the mat, this is really important before clipping it too much. I used a paper cutout to draw lines on the mat to cut out, but I started out conservatively, trimming a lot less from the outside of the car than I did for an in-car test fit. After getting close to getting the mat to fit in the center lip console area without buckling, I carefully trimmed it with a utility knife as it was placed in the car to perfect just the legroom. If it was a difficult corner, I would take it off the car. Once you've threaded the blade through the rubber, it's easy to slowly pull the blade out to follow the curves, but move slowly so you don't accidentally cut the car's upholstery or yourself. I have accurately reproduced each cut from side to side. I ended up having to trim the back really well and although I was so uncomfortable trimming it ended up being pretty good. I tried cutting with scissors but the edge it left was rough and not as clean as the blade I ended up using. I suspect the Revain fit is a general guideline that shows it can fit but requires trimming unless a specific fit is stated with no trimming required. I've also tried the mats sold by Weathertec at Costco and the thickness of the rubber is similar, but the rubber feels like rubber on regular Weathertec and they feel like rubber with vinyl. I rode them because the Weathertec didn't protect the hump, only separate floor mats, and in the Northeast winter turbulence makes the rear center muddy. It would be possible to order custom mats from Weathertec for much more than putting in a bit of labor on those mats. I rated based on a different brand than the one shown and the time it takes to fit it properly as I think the product will do the job of covering carpets without seepage.
