I have had this speaker for 4 years now. I'm a children's animator, so I use that as my sound system. I use it at over 200 parties each year and it's always a ready made bunny. It just keeps ticking. I bought a shoulder strap but still carry it around in a heavy holdall as it's with me most of the time. It dents pretty easily, so if you're transporting it make sure you put it in another bag. It is important to me to appear professional and not hackneyed. The volume and sound quality are pretty damn good for what they are. Another sound system I have that sounds better is an iPod Hi-Fi. (made by Apple) I'm not sure if they still do. It's the best sound, but it's bulky, heavy, the batteries in the remote are very fast, it doesn't even run on batteries, and the iPod sits right on top where someone can pick it up and walk around with it. I like the slot on the back for the remote control. This was one of the highlights for me as I need it for Freeze Dance etc for the kids. The remote control batteries last a long time. You should aim it directly at the front of the boombox. At first you might be quite far from it. When the battery runs out, you have to get closer and closer. That way I know when it's time to replace it. D batteries run out very quickly. I usually stick it in the wall, but in summer I don't always have that option for park parties. It should work for me, so I put on a new set every time I use it. I use it for 2-3 hours per shot. It's really heavy with batteries inside and it's awkward to put in when it has a carrying strap. I like that the iPod itself is hidden and nobody can pull it out and run away with it. That was another important point for me when buying. I didn't want something a kid could easily take off. Because mine gets used so much, the adapter you plug into the wall bent and broke. never mind Just used one of the European outlets, paid $5 for an adapter going from Europe to the US and it's like new again. In general I am very happy with them. I'm glad they still exist. I'll buy a new one while I can just in case this one stops working for me. I haven't seen anything like this before.
