I saw them in a Project Farm video (can't remember if it was that brand or something similar). Stainless steel ties work differently than standard ties. You can pull whatever you want to tighten them, but they loosen up a bit after you release the tension (as many other reviewers have noted). As far as I know, this is intentional, not a bug. To get them to stay in the learned position, tighten the tie as tight as you need, then bend the excess at least 90 degrees over the clasp. I like turning 180 degrees. Trim off the excess until a few millimeters remain. Solid stainless steel tie. As for the straps themselves, they work great. Have a pair of work lights that attach to the surface. I use them as heat lamps for my reptiles and the lampshade keeps falling out of the socket over time. I attached some regular plastic zip ties to hold it in place, which worked fine for a while until they broke. I replaced them all with these stainless steel versions and no failures since. I'm sure they would be good in many high temperature environments, outdoors where UV exposure can affect cable ties, or maybe for some temporary automotive applications where you don't have a hose clamp. Keep them handy and you will keep using them. They're cheaper here than the local hazard I checked last time, so even more reason to grab a pack.
