I bought this Canon as a backup and will be shooting until I have my dream camera, a few hundred bucks more. This camera is compact, fits perfectly in a pocket or purse, and takes a great picture - especially for the average photographer or someone who just needs an automatic, good photo. Sometimes if he doesn't like the lighting or the frame he will actually refuse to take the picture, which can be annoying when you're in a hurry! He once told me no (I know, crazy, huh?) when the flash button was off and I forgot to turn it on. it's on a special day with 50% off so $50. It was worth it. I use my cameras a lot so I bought an $11 battery and charger. in Target and it uses 2 AA batteries. It holds a charge for a decent amount of time, then if you zoom in hard it says "Charging" and it lasts a minute longer again.
