I got these containers because we recently switched from plastic to glass. Plastic can release harmful chemicals, especially when heated in a microwave, while glass containers make them safer for food storage. These particular containers look decorative with bamboo lids. I like the size and variety. The glass containers themselves can be used in the microwave, dishwasher, oven and freezer. This does not apply to bamboo lids, however, which is to be expected. The problem I have with these containers is the impracticality of the lids. Although they are quite decorative, they serve little. The rubber rings around the lids do not fit snugly on the jars and pop open easily as shown in one of the jars in the photo. Once you close the lid and think it's stuck, it pops out within a minute, almost mocking you. This doesn't make the lids airtight so I would be wary of storing liquids in them. These containers would be ideal if the company could solve the lid problem.
