I have house hens - very eager hens - and found I was laying too many eggs when they started laying this summer. I needed a storage solution - one that I can safely store in the fridge. I bought one of these trays, tried it and ordered more. They are easy to clean by hand (not in the dishwasher). They fold up nicely for easy storage of lots of eggs. The only downside is they are hard plastic and I was afraid of dropping the eggs in place and breaking them. My decision? At the bottom of each egg tray is a liner: a small folded square cut from paper towels. A simple gasket is enough and works great. And the last tip: put the eggs with the big end up - this makes them easier to separate.
