Great shaving soap!

I make safety razors, shaving brushes and other shaving accessories in my shop. I was looking for the best shaving soap to offer with my products. I've tried several types of shaving soaps and this soap is my favorite so far. What I love: Lubrication and conditioning: This soap glides effortlessly over my skin. So much so that sometimes I have to check that the blade is actually making contact with my skin. I don't get burns from shaving, chemical bites, or other irritations. When I wipe off the excess with a hot washcloth, my skin is smooth and moist, but not greasy. Soap does not dry out the skin. I don't use aftershave. Smell: The scent of sandalwood is spot on and combined with the natural scent of the soap base creates a pleasant but not overpowering scent. The scent lingers on my skin for an hour or two after shaving, but you have to put your nose right up to me to spot it. This allows me to use any cologne or other scented product without worrying about it clashing with the scent of the soap. Separate glass: Putting soap on a shaving brush and turning it into foam in a separate bowl is a big challenge. a plus. If you use a bar of soap in a mug or bowl and add foam to the same jar, you're wasting the soap. A separate container keeps soap from mushing from excess water and makes it much easier to find the right ratio of soap and water to get a good lather. received generously. At current prices I expect this soap to last 5-6 months. I leave the lid on and let the soap dry between uses and take the lid off for days. The soap does not dry out or crack, does not shrink due to moisture loss. The soap fills the jar completely with no gaps around the edges to collect excess water. I expect my last shave with this soap will be as good as my first. What could be better: Lather: Although the soap gives a rich, thick lather, I found that the lather is not as long as I would like. how. This is a common problem with well conditioning soaps; There seems to be a trade-off between the moisturizing properties of the soap and the longevity of the foam. Be that as it may, enough foam remains during the shave so that the effectiveness does not change. I prefer soaps that nourish and don't dry out my skin to soaps that lather longer. Threading the jar: The lid screws onto the bottom of the jar, but not as well. You can actually press the lid against the jar and once the threads are hooked they are held together by about a quarter turn. This is not a problem for me, but it may be important for those who will be traveling with this product. Maybe Lather & Wood will find another supplier for it.
