Stella & Chewy's Freeze Dried Raw Dog Food - love it!

I've been feeding my 17lb Vesti freeze dried raw food for over a year. She is 2.5 years old. We started feeding her high quality pellets but she had one little problem after another. Also, she had stinky gases on her pellets so I switched to freeze dried raw food even though it's more expensive. We fed our last dog raw frozen food but my husband hated that it was thawed in the fridge the whole time. I didn't know there was a raw freeze dried product before, but when I found it for our Vesti Milli I didn't regret it. We started with Primal because it was the frozen variety we used for our last dog. I've always had trouble mining sublimated Primal Blocks, so I gave Stella & Chewy's a try. The patties seem to hold together better and are a bit cheaper too. These patties are very easy to feed. I break them up in their bowl so they're like a powder. When dry, they fall apart fairly easily. Don't make the mistake of adding water first and then stirring, because that just won't work. After I break the pieces. I add about 3 tablespoons of hot tap water to 2 patties. Then I mix with a fork. Water will be absorbed in minutes. My goal is the consistency of a ground hamburger. This 5 piece set arrives well packaged and with virtually no broken pieces. It contains 1 each of chicken, duck, duck, goose, lamb, beef and surf and turf. Each package takes about a week. My 17 lb Vesti eats twice a day, 2 pies each. I weighed the patties and they weigh about 13 grams each, so if I have pieces I just use the scale. Each packet weighs 15.5 ounces or 425 grams. I didn't count the patties in the bag, but knowing they weigh about 13 grams each, that would be about 32 patties per bag. For my dog 4 pies a day, that's enough for 8 days. This set of five bags lasts me 40 days. I rotate proteins because it's a healthier way to feed my dog. Each variety differs in the calorie content per schnitzel. Chicken 60, beef 75, duck, duck, goose 70, surf and peat 75, and lamb 80. The package directions say different amounts based on the calories, but I only feed my dog 2 patties twice a day and alternating varieties. . She also gets meat and vegetarian delicacies as a side dish. We are very happy with this food for our dog. Millie loves him very much and never refuses food. The stink gas is a reminder of the past, plus she had some minor skin allergies that also went away. Another thing Millie did before switching to freeze-dried raw food was vomiting bile in the middle of the night. She used to do this at the stern at least once a week. Now she never does! Thank you for reading my review. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer your comments! Becky Brooks * I paid full price for this pet food. I bought it twice. It used to be $133 and now it's only $125. This is a huge saving compared to buying them individually. The supplier I used was Greenfield Supply.
