Bought this life jacket before going kayaking. My 10 month old Aussiedoodle, Skyla, was very comfortable in it. She likes to wear it! It seems very safe. She fell into the cold river on our first walk! The handle came in handy to pull it out. She seems to swim well with the jacket. A note on sizing and fit: I originally bought this for my other Aussiedoodle, a male who weighs 22lbs. The medium in that life jacket didn't suit him. The chest was ok but the body was too long. The little one was too small. I bought him another brand.
