Coarser than my manual brush that I used previously. My gums bled for the first few days, but then my mouth got used to it. That's a really good deal at $20. It's way better than the $5 spinning brushes you can see at local grocery stores, but not nearly as expensive as those 500-in-1 function brushes you can find here at Revain. Comes with a charger and two heads (one to start and one more). The heads are pretty strong. Maybe 6 months per head with regular thorough combing. You can just use them longer as they are quite expensive. It will vibrate every two minutes of brushing to let you know that 2 minutes have passed. I really wish it didn't have this feature. It doesn't look like you'll stop brushing your teeth after two minutes unless you've brushed a few areas. But it's still just a mild annoyance, you just have to wait a few seconds and the brush will start working again. All in all a great deal for $20.
