My daughter usually wears medium sized girls clothes and for these shorts we needed a small size
I have a very small 12 year old girl, the size S fit, the medium size was small. too large. The shorts are exactly as described, only reason one star less is because they charge $30 for something that sells for $25 but I was desperate and needed them so I bought them anyway.
