Originally I wanted to buy punching tools and buy all the elements for sockets. As soon as I saw this kit I decided to buy sockets with Cat 5e keystone jacks/jacks so I could easily plug them in. In any case, I had to terminate the leads on the main panel, so the crimping and having Cat 5e connectors worked great. The tester (9V battery not included) saved my mistakes twice! I thought I was pretty thorough. I swapped two wires on one of my connectors and didn't fasten the other properly so a couple of wires aren't making proper contact. A quick tip: be sure to check the order of the LEDs when testing both ends of your connection. Indicators on both ends ensure connection, but a loop (the one with no battery) shows when they're out of order.
