Review on OFFROADTOWN 70-Inch LED Board Running Lights Kit: Truck White/Amber Turn 🚚 Signal & Courtesy Lighting Strips for Extended & Crew Cab Trucks, Pickups, SUVs by George Saunier

I bought these lights to replace a set of OPT7 footpeg lights which didn't impress me. I installed the Offroad Town lights on a 2017 GMC 2500, hooked them up to the headlight assembly and hooked up the puddle lights under the driver's side dash to the dome/BCM power supply. After installing them, I noticed that the guide list that came with it shows 20,000 hours of work, while the Revain list shows 50,000 hours of work. This is a significant discrepancy in lamp life (approximately 2.5 years versus 5.7 years). Another complaint I have is when the turn signals activate without the running lights being on. The front half of the LEDs alternate normally, but then stop while the remaining LEDs flicker. It really irritated me. When I returned to Revain to investigate the issue in the Q&A, I noticed that others were having the same issue. If you have chasers turned on, they work great; if not, spastic gating. I haven't had this problem with OPT7 bulbs, leading me to believe it's a driver or hardware issue. Overall, their build quality is far superior to what I've sent back. The waterproof case is strong and durable, and genuine 3M tape runs the full length of the strap. Other brands have weird caps on the ends that you can't tape and I believe this will cause the non-brand tape to fail in the car wash. The wires exiting the bands are tied into bundles and encased in thick rubber. a coating that made it easier to route the wires and hopefully protect them from the elements. The ground wire has a built-in fuse. Here, too, these features were missing in the competitor's assembly (22ga cores without protection, without fuses). Overall I'm happy with the headlights. I took off one star for the incredibly misleading lifespan and another for the pesky 50% light consistency (or lack thereof) for "turn signals only". If Offroad Town can help me with any of the issues I will update my review. I will update the durability rating in a few months.
