I don't know much about sewing and sewing machines, but my wife is an expert. She sews most of the day, every day, and most of the time she quilts and staples paper with a Brother SQ9185 low shank sewing machine. Here's what she says about these presser feet... 1. Zigzag and straight stitch foot - Strong metal. Attaches easily and securely to my car. The needle matches the hole. Great base foot. But I prefer a foot with a clear plastic tip. It's good, but I like to see more stuff.2. Adjustable Guided Presser Foot - The snap foot is perfect for my machine. The foot's center red line lines up exactly with my needle when it's in the center position. There are many very closely spaced recesses into which the guide is inserted. This presser foot is good for backstitch, zigzag and decorative stitches. But there is no marking of the measurements. I found that the first red line = 3/8" and each subsequent red line adds another 1/8". There are 1/16 inch notches between the red lines which could probably be dispensed with. I would personally use a ¼ inch sewing foot to get a precise ¼ inch seam, but for big steps without special sewing feet this will work. If you sew 1 layer of cotton fabric, the fabric can slip under the white protection. If the end of the guide foot had more clamping force, perhaps this would prevent the second/top layer of fabric from slipping under the foot. Since the downforce from the foot extension is not sufficient to prevent this. This works better with 2 layers of fabric, but you still need to be careful and guide the fabric.3. Sewing foot with edge guide - Easily add edge detail to your projects. Creates evenly spaced straight or decorative border stitches. This is useful for sewing parallel lines of decorative stitches ½ or 1 inch apart when the needle is in the middle position. Fits perfectly, snaps into place. Nice big clear paw with dark red guidelines. Eliminates chalk stains or marks that may or may not come out of the fabric. The wide plastic foot helps keep the fabric in place. The center line of the foot corresponds to my needle drop when my needle is centered.
