Review on πŸŽ’ Fjallraven Men's Kaipak Backpack in Navy: Efficient and Stylish! by Dawn Jackson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Excellent materials and details, terrible painful landing.

I really liked this set. The material, simple design and construction are great. There are smart parts for ice tools or hiking poles. I can make it work with my bladder. It doesn't feel like I'm trying to climb Everest or set any land speed records, which is great. The color options are amazingly subtle. It's badass. But the landing is strange. I'm 5ft 9in, about 140lbs and my actual waist is 31in. Well, I'm thin and pretty fit. The lap belt on this one pulls all the way down and is barely snug enough for my 31 inch waist. However, the chest strap is almost exhausted on my 38-39" chest. And the minimum torso length for this backpack should be about 21 inches. My torso is about 19 inches tall and this backpack will rip a hole in the top of the tailbone area because of it is so long and the straps are not adjustable. It was like the design was meant for a very tall man, with a medium to wide waist, with the smallest chest and shoulders ever seen on a human. If you 5 feet 10 inches or taller, not skinny or broad shouldered, this backpack could be a perfect choice for you.

Pros
  • One zippered front pocket and two side pockets. Compression straps on the sides. Attachment points for trekking poles or ice axes.
Cons
  • Repair
