Cannot handle external drives

This hub was not "plug and play". I'm running the latest updated version of Win10 on a gaming PC and had to ask Windows to run an update scan to find the drivers needed to run this hub. The on/off buttons for each port are handy and it worked with flash drives, although the small transfers I made seemed to be moving at USB 2 speeds (I used 16GB USB 3 drives). While the flash drives worked, I bought them for a rarely used USB 3.0 external hard drive, and plugging just a 2TB drive (I've tried Western Digital and Seagate) into the hub resulted in incredibly slow processing for the Opening the first level then failed when attempting to dive into the drive, resulting in a warning in the attached screenshot. This is with just one external drive connected and powered on. Very disappointing and a waste of time and money.
