This was thinner and not as soft as the one it replaced, but it was half the cost of the original so I should have anticipated that. In all honesty, for much of the year the other one was a little too heavy, but it was just so soft I used it anyway. I was drawn to the "kangaroo pocket" (my Brookstone didn't have any kind of pocket) then I fell for "Premium" in the title of this one, however, in reality it isn't premium. Especially in comparison to the one her dog is now luxuriating on.
