I picked up this docking station after another docking station had a compatibility issue with the HP Elitebook 840 G6: If something was plugged into the downstream Thunderbolt 3 port, the laptop would not boot; Once downloaded you can plug everything in and it will have no problem working. Ergonomically, the TB3 cable to the computer is in an awkward position (which is why I docked the star) when it exits the front of the dock. That suits my needs. Just a cable to the computer that can supply power. It can drive two 4k monitors at 60Hz, with one caveat: you must connect one to the TB3 downstream connector, as DisplayPort connectors cannot electrically drive two monitors at this resolution and refresh rate simultaneously. I like the speakerphone and the number of ports. Also, the HP setting for HP allows the power button on the top bezel to work, so I never have to open the lid or use another solution like Wake on LAN to turn it on.
