Light up the blue! in lighting and ceiling fans

Original post - 5 stars <> I used them to encase a 22ft pontoon boat and light it up at night. They were easy to install as double sided tape was already attached. I included a small plastic clip every 14 inches to hold them in place. Easily cut to length markers made it easy to place them where needed. Daisy linked 2 together to make a full length seamless thread. up to 3 stars <> So we have installed them on the pontoon since May. The lights last about 12 hours (lights on) and during our last walk I noticed that some of the LEDs were failing. This creates dark areas. in the light they shine. Ultimately you get what you pay for. The price is low, but you have to take away the part to get thousands of hours of light. Unless they multiply each LED by hours of use, you'll never get to that number until enough of them have burned out and you need to replace the entire strip to keep it looking as good as the day you installed them. LED strips, that's the time it takes to install them professionally. I knew duct tape would never hold them in place (don't know why anyone would have thought of that; it's duct tape, think of everything you've ever recorded and how long it really took), but I have it explained with plastic clips. Keep the strips every 14 inches and the strips themselves have not moved since installation. Given that the strips are attached 10 inches above the waterline and are definitely in a humid environment I am very pleased with how the strips stayed in place. So let's summarize; If you buy them, at some point (MUCH less than 50,000 hours) expect some of the LED elements to fail. Eventually you will need to replace the strips. Use something other than tape to secure them if you expect them to last a long time.
