I use in-ear headphones for mountain biking. I bounce and shake a lot on frequent descents and I needed headphones to keep up with them so they wouldn't slip out from under the sweat and deal with the sweat. and microphones. Sweat always seems to seep in, and that integrated mic/button area is the weak link. I finally bit the bullet and paid over $20-$35 for my disposable training pair and got it. At the time I bought them they were around $70 (don't know why the price went up again). True to the hype, they worked well, the unique shape of the earcups helped them stay in the ear with no issues and were very comfortable on 4+ hour rides without removing them. I even used the buttons on my Android phone (only the center button works with Android, the volume buttons worked fine when I used my old iPod from time to time) with a program you can download from the App Store. Everything was fine in the world and these kids sounded great (never discussed) and worked for about 6 months with no problems. Finally, just this weekend, the button died. Yes, the headphones still work and sound great despite the horrific, super sweaty punishment they receive 4 times a week non-stop. It is wonderful. But. the buttons stopped working. It was quite a bit of resistance once you got used to them. I confirmed that the buttons were dead and that it wasn't my phone by trying the dedicated Android app with the Klipsch headphones buttons and connecting them back to the iPod. I came back to this site to think about buying another pair. I don't tend to go through the RMA process and wait 4-6 weeks for a replacement if I need something now. But when you return, find that they have increased in value significantly? No thanks. So I'm sure some of you have similar experiences and needs with headphones. They CAN withstand hundreds of workouts practically underwater (oh BOY, I'm sweating like crazy). By the way, I really liked the size of the buttons on the control line. I could always feel them with my gloved hands, even with the cord under my shirt, and control my music. Some people complain about the size, but I think Klipsch has got the hang of who their target audience is. However, when I tried the running earbuds a few times, the control box was a bit large and pulled the earbuds too tight. If you're a runner, I'd ditch them and buy in-ear headphones with an over-ear support loop. (I'm still looking for the perfect pair in this style) ***UPDATED*** OK. So I contacted Klipsch customer service and the return process was surprisingly easy. I contacted the person straight away and the return/exchange details were processed quickly and easily. I wanted to give it 10 minutes before giving up but it only took 5. I'm adding another star (up to 4 stars) because this company cares and does everything right.
