I searched very carefully for an original Epson bulb. There are some things in life that you can get away with cheap imitations, but a projector lamp is not one of them if you want long life and brightness. The lamp in the official Epson store costs about $10 more, but it's about at that level as most fakes are under $100. The reason I chose this one is because the title "Epson America ELPLP78" says what most people think you are selling this brand and not another brand FOR Epson projectors. Additionally, the brand is listed as "By Epson” in this Revain list. My first clue that something was wrong was that it was shipped in the small, fragile box that the lamp came in, rather than the shipping box. Not critical as it's protected by foam, but a bad sign. I took it out of the box and compared it to my previous lamp and there was no doubt that it was a fake. There is no real Epson sticker and note in my photos that where there is the Epson name on the case on a fake it is missing. Don't buy this lightbulb. If you want the original, visit the official website, and if you want a fake, there are much cheaper options.
