I've tried it at home and found that low settings are the *perfect* brightness for the living room, behind the armchair in our kid's room, at the base of our stairs, and in our master bathroom. I liked that I can unplug and turn it off during the day as I need to do this so my kids don't have to pull it out and play with it. I liked that the ones I didn't have to unplug were light sensitive enough to turn off during the day, even behind a child's chair. only 5 lamps. We love her! My only gripe is that there is very little light scatter; If you're above a light source and looking down at it, it's fairly bright even at low brightness levels - too bright for our liking in our bedroom at night. However, as I write this, it occurs to me that I should connect it face down to solve this problem. I'll try tonight! Overall I'm very happy with these lamps and would *highly* recommend them! I hope they will last me for many years to come, despite any power outages.
