I have a new OLED TV at home (Sony and I love it!) It has such perfect blacks that it can shock you when it goes from dark to light. As I enjoy movies in a dark room, a friend and I started looking for something to use as a bias light source (she has an LG and loves hers too!). This remote controlled light worked great in each of our target homes. . It is dimmable and we both use standard white light. Easy to install, so far so good! (At home I find around 25-33% optimal for brightness compared to 100% full). One thing about installing an RF receiver is that it's a bit heavy for thin LED strips and glue, so make sure you have a strain relief, velcro, strip, or mechanical intervention ready. Quick Fact: Displacement lights were around long before the HDTV days were widely available in the days of NTSC. Although the preferred color temperature is 6500 Kelvin, I haven't noticed any problems with the light. and let me just add that the remote control is awesome! (if not the strongest.) For the money and purpose I don't see what you can go wrong! HAVE FUN!
