I bought these because I've just gotten into kayaking and expect to be "in the drink" a time or two, plus you get splattered with water, especially when it's windy, so I wanted clothes that will dry quickly. I had bought a different brand in a capris style originally and liked them. until these arrived. The wide band is much better at staying in place and these are more comfortable than the other brand's capris. At a mere 5' 2" (on the best of days a couple of decades ago), these are actually a little long on me, but that's no big deal. The bottom just gets scrunched up a bit. Forgiving in fit, I was completely comfortable in them during the hours I was kayaking. In fact, I was so pleased I bought a second pair in a different color. Because I burn at the drop of a hat I either have to keep myself well covered or keep slathering on sun screen, which is a pain and can get expensive. These saved me from that extra necessity and their ability to dry fast was very welcome in the very windy, choppy conditions yesterday provided.
